An East Indian gets lost on his first day in New York as two teenage punks find him waiting at a lonely bus stop. He cannot understand English, and the boys have some fun with him - at least it starts out as fun. But little by little, as the minutes go by and the bus doesn't come, they get bored; then annoyed, then vicious.

The play premiered in 1966 at the Eugene O'Neill Theater Center in Waterford, Connecticut. In 1968 it then transferred to The Astor Place Theatre in New York City. The play was the start of an amazing career for Al Pacino. He went on to win an Obie Award for his work in the role of Murph for _The Indian Wants The Bronx_.

Director and co-writer David Wain joins us in person for the premiere of the year: the world theatrical debut of the *Wet Hot American Summer* Fart Cut.

After an unfairly underseen limited initial release, *Wet Hot American Summer *would first find the adoring audience it deserved when it was issued on DVD in the winter of 2002.

Deep within the menus of that quintessential disc, a one-of-a-kind special feature was waiting to be discovered. 

It was&#8230; a Fart Track.

An alternate audio track playing alongside the movie featuring live recorded farts, **simulated** by Wain, co-writer/star Michael Showalter, and (“maybe”) co-star Zak Orth. Like the film, the track has a fervent following who until tonight have never had a chance to convene and relive their favorite farts.

Much has thankfully been done to celebrate the 25th anniversary of *Wet Hot American Summer. *But on this day, Hollywood Entertainment is proud to be the first to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the *Wet Hot American Summer *Fart Cut live and in surround sound.

For the film’s 25th anniversary, Frameline has commissioned a 4K restoration of *Chocolate Babies* in partnership with the National Film Preservation Foundation, the UCLA Film & Television Archive, and the Outfest Legacy Project. Following its festival run in the mid-1990s (playing at SXSW, the Berlinale, and Frameline21), *Chocolate Babies* struggled to secure major distribution due to its radically independent Black queer vision, but eventually found a home at Frameline Distribution who championed the film and continued to bring it to new audiences. Frameline proudly presents the world premiere of this pristine restoration in rich color and vivid detail like never before.

Set in the summer of 1949 amidst the rubble of a defeated Germany in the aftermath of World War II, Fatherland centers on the relationship between the Nobel Prize–winning novelist Thomas Mann (Zischler) and his daughter Erika Mann (Hüller) -actress, writer, and rally driver. Returning home after sixteen years of exile in the US, Thomas Mann must face not only a divided fatherland, but also a deep fissure within his own family, one that is both politically charged and emotionally challenging. As father and daughter embark on a fictionalized road trip across a torn Germany- still visibly scarred by battle and simultaneously in denial of its evils and culpability- they travel from US-dominated Frankfurt in the west to Soviet controlled Weimar in the east. Pawlikowski and Handloegten’s screenplay uses the Mann’s own fractured relationship as the vehicle to examine a country at the crossroads of history, facing an impending moral crisis. Cinematographer Łukasz Żal’s hauntingly stark black-and-white visuals skillfully capture Zischler and Hüller’s masterfully restrained performances.

Fleeing mistakes in Atlanta, Mauro crashes on his sister’s couch in Boston. He takes to bucket drumming on the streets for a way out, but can’t stop screwing things up and drawing everyone else into his own feral shortcomings.

DOWNBEAT is a defiantly independent production, crowd-funded via Kickstarter and shot entirely on a single camcorder, with a cast made up largely of real musicians and every note of bucket drumming recorded live. It had its World Premiere at the 2026 SXSW Film Festival, and was recently featured as an Unreleased Gem on the Letterboxd Video Store.

Pierce’s brother Wendell (Monte Easter), an up-and-coming lawyer, is busy planning a wedding to a snooty upper-middle-class black woman named Sonia (director Charles Burnett’s wife, Gaye Shannon-Burnett, who co-produced the film). In this loose adaptation of Nikolai Gogol’s 1842 novel *Dead Souls*, Strindler – or is it Swindler? – raises eyebrows when he offers to pay a pretty penny to add to his list of names. Wandering affably from saloon to ranch, Strindler exercises the old adage that money talks – but sometimes too loudly. Pistol duels and crooked officials abound, and Spaghetti Western legend Gianni Garko (IF YOU MEET SARTANA PRAY FOR YOUR DEATH) claims a co-writer credit. But Cox’s idiosyncrasy stands out as the film veers tonally through the picaresque, dark satire and other unexpected twists. After missing their intended target and trying to escape the wrath of their employer (Jim Jarmusch), they head for the desert and rob a bank en-route. As their car dies in a ravine, the trio bury their money and head for a lonely town to hide out till the heat blows over. Dark Romances is a 1990 SOV anthology filmed at EZTV and conceived by director/producer Patricia Miller and (the late) Mark Shepard. It was originally shot as an episodic TV series for PLAYBOY, but was turned down due to it being deemed too violent & gory for their network. So, Mark and Patricia decided to distribute the 3-hour, 28-minute edited stories directly to video. Film Threat originally released these as a two-volume set. The set features scream queen BRINKE STEVENS in most of the stories and has a very EC / Tales from the Crypt vibe, with distincitve lighting and set design that truly sets this anthology apart from other shot-on-video films. 5 different auteurs who all worked at or frequented EZTV (PATRICIA MILLER, MARK SHEPARD, SAMUEL OLDHAM, JOHN STRYSIK, BRYAN MOORE and RODD MATSUI) created a genuine piece of analog you have to see.  Many collaborators on this film also worked on the SOV film, CARDS OF DEATH which has a similar vibe and aesthetic.

**VOL 1.**"The Black Veil"  is a Grand Guignol-inspired gothic story set in 1988 where a psychiatrist's widow visits a college friend performing in a theatre that enacts mutilations. It is one of the longer stories in this set, running just about an hour. "Listen to Midnight" is a film noir style story about a photographer and a woman with a dragonfly tattoo who mates with and then lures men to their death.

**VOL 2**"She's Bad, She's Blonde, She's Lunch" starts off with a bang, literally, and is my favorite of the bunch. A couple robs a store, leaving a trail of bloodshed, and then takes a trip to lover's lane where they meet a man, and his monster. In "Cardinal Sin," a young man is tempted by his dreams of Hustler star Elle Rio while dealing with his overbearing religious mom. "Pet Shop of Death": A submissive husband who wants to leave his wife for his neighbor (Brinke Stevens) goes to a specialty pet shop to find something to help free him from matrimony. "Last Love" is about a psychiatrist who, depressed over the loss of her husband, ends up having an affair with his ghost! Lastly, in "What Goes Around," a composer uninspired to create music after losing his wife and child finds new inspiration with a woman who is not what she seems.

Created by and for Los Angeles–based independent filmmakers, RSFF is a non-competitive festival that brings bold, distinctive work to the big screen—and brings the people behind it into the community. Across four days, filmmakers and audiences gather to discover new voices, pack theaters and build the relationships that sustain creative lives in Los Angeles.

From October 7–10, RSFF presents 19 short films and three features at the Egyptian Theatre and Los Feliz 3.
